MOD Groove SideCar 3

I bought the MOD Groove Step-Thru with the Sidecar 3 because I wanted a way to get more exercise and enjoy riding again while being able to bring my little dog, Penny, along with me. After having it for a while, I can honestly say it has turned out to be so much more than I expected.

First of all, this bike is FUN. It has a really cool retro look without feeling like I'm riding an “old lady bike,” which was important to me. 😂 The black-and-white setup with the whitewall tires is exactly the aesthetic I wanted, and I get smiles and comments when we're out riding.

And then there's the sidecar.

Penny has officially gone from passenger to Pawsenger Princess. 🐾👑 She absolutely loves going for rides, and being able to take her with me has made me much more motivated to actually get outside and ride. The sidecar gives us a completely different way to spend time together.

I also really appreciate that MOD has been responsive when I've had questions and needed help getting everything dialed in. There were a few issues during the initial setup, including getting the sidecar alignment and fit sorted out, but MOD worked with me on those things rather than leaving me to figure them out on my own. That kind of customer service matters when you're spending this much on a bike.

One thing I would recommend to anyone considering this setup is to think about the whole system, not just the bike. If you're carrying a dog, you'll probably end up wanting a camera, a good restraint system, a cover, locks, and a few other accessories. In my case, Penny has basically acquired her own tiny motorcycle-riding wardrobe. 😂

The sidecar has also opened up possibilities I hadn't really considered when I bought it. I'm looking forward to taking rides where we can stop for a picnic, bring a chair, read, crochet, or just explore somewhere new. It's become less about “getting exercise” and more about having a reason to get out of the house.

Is it an inexpensive purchase? No. But for me, the combination of exercise, transportation, and being able to bring Penny along makes it much easier to justify than buying a bike that would simply sit in the garage.

There have been a few bumps along the way, but the overall experience has been extremely positive. I'm very glad I went with the Groove and Sidecar 3.

I bought a Mod Groove Sidecar to encourage my wife to ride again. After the first week of her riding the Groove Sidecar with our pup Skye and me riding my 7speed bike, I knew I wanted another ebike. I bought another Groove!

I’m so glad I chose the Mod Groove with side car. My Schnauzer and I are having so much fun riding and exploring on this bike. I’ve had a knee replacement and scheduled for another one. It’s perfect for strengthening my muscles prior to surgery and will be great to rehab on it after. Thanks for building a great bike.

Having an absolute blast with my new bike. Georgie got used to riding in the sidecar very quickly. Fun fun fun.

Just got a Mod Groove e-bike and sidecar to haul the dogs around. It is an excellent product and will serve as a transition step to taking them in my motorcycle sidecar.
The Mod Groove and sidecar are well engineered and very sturdy. Easy to assemble and just plain looks great. My dogs will ride in style and comfort. So glad I went with Mod!
